Washington Restaurant Association Honors Aitken, Harvey, Mauer and Fugere for Contributions to the Restaurant and Foodservice Industry
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington Restaurant Association today announced that four restaurant and foodservice industry leaders were honored at the second annual Toasting the Finest: A Celebration of Success awards ceremony on Saturday March 6, 2010, in Seattle.
Devere Jerry Burtenshaw Lifetime Achievement Award
- Jim Aitken, Consolidated Restaurants, Inc., Seattle, Wash. (Ret.)
Full Service Operator of the Year
- Joe Fugere, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, Seattle, Wash.
Allied Member of the Year
- Bob Mauer, Bargreen Ellingson, Inc., Tacoma, Wash.
Quick Service Operator of the Year
- Jeff Harvey, Burgerville, Inc., Vancouver, Wash.
“These award recipients truly exemplify what makes the restaurant industry so great,” said Anthony Anton, president and CEO of the Washington Restaurant Association. “They have made significant charitable contributions to improve their communities. It’s a privilege to represent such a distinguished group of professionals.”
The Devere Jerry Burtenshaw Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed by the WRA. This award is presented annually to individuals who have made significant career achievements and are esteemed for their distinguished service to their industry, community and charitable organizations.
Full service, quick service and allied member of the year award winners are acknowledged for their dedication and outstanding contributions to the enhancement of the foodservice industry’s image, supporting the success of a restaurant and their communities in 2009.
